Arconic, a global leader in the manufacture of aluminium components for the aerospace industry, set my group and I an assignment to improve on their passenger aircraft seat track.

CAD model of our final design and the adjacent aircraft fuselage structure.

Close up of the seat track structure. Including cutouts on the top for bolt fixings for a secure connection with the seats. Along with cutouts along the side profile to reduce weight whilst maintaining the same structural properties as a solid seat track.
